Why track tension matters
Tracks that are too loose can lead to excessive wear on the sprockets and idlers and can derail, while tracks that are too tight cause stress and damage to the undercarriage components. The track adjuster sets and holds the correct tension.
Check for grease oozing around seals, damaged springs, or rusted or scored adjuster pistons. These are signs the adjuster needs attention.
