Terex’s story
Terex is a manufacturer of lifting machinery and machines such as aerial work platforms, tracked cranes and material handlers. In addition, Terex builds a huge range of earthmoving and construction machinery. This ranges from undercarriages and excavator parts, all the way up to mining haul trucks.
This reliable manufacturer was originally founded in 1933 under the name Euclid Company. The company was only given the name Terex in 1970. Terex means ‘earth’ and ‘king’. It is now part of General Motors.
With these, they operate in construction, infrastructure, quarries, mining, navigation, transport, refineries and energy and utility companies.
While it was growing, Terex developed a number of important heavy machines. This included the world’s first off-road truck. It also included the world’s first twin-powered bulldozer.
